Dinner at the Ferryboat Inn April 9th

Join Mark Hix for an evening of great British food. Mark will be cooking a three-course menu at The Ferryboat Inn with in-house head chef Ben Lightfoot on the evening of Friday 9th April 2010. In Mark’s signature British style, this one-off menu will showcase Cornish producers and local ingredients.

The Ferryboat Inn at Helford Passage is delighted to welcome Mark who will also be sharing his passion in a talk about his style in British cooking and the abundance of fantastic ingredients available to us today.

The evening begins at 7pm. Tickets cost £37.50 per head and include a glass of wine. Advance booking is essential.

Mark Hix, renowned restaurateur and food writer has become widely known for his pioneering role in reviving our interest in British gastronomy. Mark’s unrivalled passion in sourcing and cooking with great British ingredients has inspired chefs up and down the country, a movement that has finally made us a nation proud of our food.

The Ferryboat Inn is now under the management of Wright Brothers of Borough Market. Wright Brothers is one of the countries leading oyster specialists, who over the past four years have been working on the regeneration of the Helford River Oyster beds. Taking over The Ferry Boat Innat Helford Passage enables them to offer their customers a unique dining experiences and offer a ‘farm to plate’ philosophy with oysters and seafood straight out of the Helford River and a menu of locally sourced food cooked simply. The kitchen is headed up by Ben Lightfoot who has a multitude of awards and a loyal following from his days at The Sticky Prawn on Flushing Quay. They also have an award-winning restaurant Wright Brothers Oyster & Porter House in the heart of Borough Market.
