Maya Pieris
Four Seasons Preserves, run by Maya Pieris from Askerswell, was awarded 3 Taste of the West awards for their Dorset Apple Chutney, Lucknow Lime Chutney and Dorset Apple & Cider Chutney using Dorset apples, cider and cider vinegar. Maya has appeared in The Hungry Sailors and the Hairy Bikers and writes for the Blackmore Vale, Dorset and the Eggardon and Colmers View magazines. She is also one of the History Girls who fund raise for Bridport Museum and others by providing historical food for buffets. Maya was named Dorset Food Hero of the Year, 2011,
by Dorset Magazine. And after only 3 years in the county!
Maya Pieris will be hosting a work shop for kids on a "DIY campers cream tea" including:
- drop scones with children making the mixture and me cooking on a frying pan
- cheats jam using a tin of fruit with kids doing the mixing bit and me cooking
- butter making using local jersey milk shaken not stirred in jars which kids can do
- parents can help!
- plus recipes and goody boxes
